How to arrive to the showroom?

By metro: Bilbao metro station (lines 1 and 4). The showroom is located 50m walk from the metro stop.

By car: You can park in front of the showroom, in the Centro Fuencarral Parking, located on Calle Fuencarral 101.

By train: If you arrive by AVE at the Atocha or Chamartín stations, you can take line 1 to the Bilbao metro stop. There are 9 metro stops from the Chamartín station or 7 stops from the Atocha-Renfe station.

If it's your first time in Madrid, I recommend you to download the Citymapper application, which will indicate the best transport options in real time and according to traffic.

When should I make my appointment?

How long is my appointment?

To have the most options and the least stressful shopping experience, if time permits, we recommend shopping at least 7-10 months before your wedding day! All of our dresses require a minimum 4 months from order to arrival.

Our goal at One of a Kind is to help you find your wedding dress! For that reason, if you want to try on dresses, we do require an appointment. This way we can ensure that a dedicated stylist is working one-on-one with you for your full 70 minute appointment!

Who should I bring to my appointment?

What should I bring to my appointment?

Due to current Covid restrictions, three people are allowed to the showroom (3 guests + the bride so 4 people in total). We advise you to bring your closest family member or friend whose opinion you value, who knows your personality well and with whom you want to share the experience of buying your gown.

We suggest bringing any pictures of dresses you’ve seen on Pinterest, Instagram or that you’ve tried on elsewhere. Please bring nude underwear, as well as a nude strapless bra if you are interested in strapless styles. Also a pair of comfortable heels! Make sure you are wearing as minimal make-up as possible when trying on our amazing dresses.

What happens when you say “yes” to the dress?

What sizes are available in the showroom?

Once you have found your gown, we will take measurements and work with you to determine the best size. A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to place the order on your gown.

It will take approximately 4 to 6 months for it to arrive, depending on the dress designer. Once your gown arrives at the showroom, we will schedule a second appointment for you to meet your dress. During this appointment, you’ll get to try on your specific dress – it is also the perfect moment to try any accessories, or the shoes you are planning to wear on your wedding day. At this time, we will also schedule your first fitting with our in-house alterations professionals.

At One of a Kind, we have carefully selected body inclusive designers that’s why we offer sample dresses of two different size ranges: 40/44 and 46/48.

All of the designers we carry offer plus sizes as well and we have a large selection of sample dresses in size 46-48.

On average, a bridal 42 is similar to a street size 38/40. If the gowns are too big for you, we will use our handy dandy bridal clips to clip the dress tighter to give you a better idea. If the gown is too small we will clip the gown up to your undergarments. Unfortunately, the sample gowns will never be a perfect fit. But you have our promise that we will do all that we can to give you the best possible idea of how it will look!

How much do alterations cost?

Do I need alterations?

We do not cover your alterations. It varies from bride to bride depending on the choice of your dress and your size.

Contacting our dressmaker is a free service that we offer to all our brides. We do not take any commission on alterations billed by our seamstress to reduce the cost of this service.

Every dress needs alterations! Concretely, when we receive your dress to your size, a fitting is planned in our showroom in the presence of our dressmaker. Together we define the alterations to be made and we ensure that you are satisfied with your dress. Following this appointment, an estimate will be sent to you by our seamstress.

Our dressmakers are experienced in wedding dress modifications. However, you are completely free to choose another seamstress if you want.

What payment methods are accepted?

PAYMENTS AND RETURNS

Is it possible to get a refund or cancel a dress order?

At One of a kind, we accept bank transfers, cards and cash. For all full price wedding gowns, we ask that you pay 50% once you've said 'Yes to the Dress' and then the remaining 50% once it has been delivered to the boutique. Sale dresses must be paid for in full and unfortunately, we can’t put gowns on hold.

Once you have selected your dress, it is made to your measurements. No refund or cancellation is possible, that’s why we give you time to think before making your choice!

Can I book your showroom for a private event?

It is possible to rent our space for various occasions (hendo, workshops, etc.)

What is a Trunk Show?

What is a Rush Order?

A trunk show is an in-store event by an individual designer, this usually takes place lasting one to three days, where you can view and buy from a designer’s latest collection long before they hit the stores here in Spain. When finding the dress of your dreams at a trunk show, it is always good to be prepared to make a decision that day, as gowns will not be in store once the trunk show is finished. All upcoming Trunk Shows will be published via our Instagram feed page.

A Rush Order means that the designer may need to cut and ship your gown faster than their normal delivery time. Rush orders are not always possible but when we can, we will offer a “rush” order, this entails an additional fee by the designer. A rush order is useful for brides who ordered their dresses a few weeks before their wedding date.

What is a Loan Sample ?

A loan sample (or dress loan) is the possibility offered by some of our brands to send a dress to the store that we do not have in the showroom. If you fall in love with a dress that we don't have at One of a Kind, you can ask the brand to send us this particular dress for a week. This service may have an additional cost depending on the brand.
